There Is Enough Glitter

e’ve all been there. Looking at other people who have done what you dream of doing. Getting a pang of jealousy or getting down on yourself because your time hasn’t come yet. Don’t fret! We all have our own journeys that no one else has any idea about. Maybe your path will change into something even better. Who knows? What I do know though?
There is definitely enough glitter to go around.

Dreams Come A Size Too Big

This past weekend I was doing my weekly purge (taking one section of my place and getting rid of everything I don't need!) when I opened a notebook I had been using two years ago. I opened the cover and on the inside was this post-it note:

I sat there and stared at it for a full five minutes. Last Monday I started this journey with Touch of Ambition wanting to inspire women and help them to fulfill their dreams which in turn is fulfilling mine. I love seeing happy people, fulfilled people which is why I want to be a life coach and be an entrepreneur myself.

Apparently, I already knew what I wanted to do two years ago - but why didn't I do it?!

That's what made me sit there in awe. I knew what I wanted to do, what I was meant to do, but two years ago I was no where near ready to help anyone else. I was fresh out of college working at an advertising agency and gaining my own life experiences. There is no way I could have helped anyone else or had the knowledge to. This spring will mark three fulls years post college and honestly I have learned so much. I learned so much in fact, that I have been taking on clients (one small dream come true!) and helping them grow their own businesses. I have worked at an advertising agency and now a fortune 500 publishing company, I have coordinated a major fundraising event and I am now on the board for an entire city's school board. There is no way I would have been ready to take on my dream a few years ago.

Although we always want things now, sometimes it is best to prepare ourselves so that when we are fully ready we can take the world by storm!

Reads Lately

The past couple of years I have rekindled my love of reading. Once I was done with studying I actually was excited about reading for fun again! Now I try to read 2-4 books a month depending on my time.  I normally read fiction since I like to take my mind off the real world but every now and again you will catch me with non-fiction!

The past few weeks I have been able to read The Expats, Girls In White Dresses and The Paris Wife.

The Expats - This book I could not put down! If you are at all interested in thrillers this is a book for you. It is about an ex-CIA agent who moves to Europe when her husband gets a new job. Soon though she suspects they are being followed at every turn.

I honestly read this book in a week. One of those you read while blow drying your hair, while eating breakfast, you get the gist!

Girls In White Dresses - I picked up this book because I had seen it all over Pinterest and in articles titled "Books 20-somethings Should Read". I have to admit it was a little slow for me. I even read The Expats in the middle of this because I was struggling through. The writing style bounces from each girls story and back and forth and I couldn't get as into it.

I did finish reading it because I was absolutely hoping it would get better. I would probably skip this read.

The Paris Wife - Oh Paris. Having just visited Paris in September I was eager to imagine the streets again. This book is set in the 1920's in the viewpoint of Hadley, the wife of Ernest Hemmingway, about their meeting and their life together. It is so interesting to envision what the famous writer in this way. I would highly recommend this one!

Books in my queue next include:

Dark Places - Gillian Flynn
Sharp Objects - Gillian Flynn (see a pattern here? I loved Gone Girl so much I can't wait for these!)
How To Win Friends & Influence People - Dale Carnegie
The Monuments Men - Robert Edsel

I also want to tackle this list of Books to Read Before They Hit Theaters. I have read a lot of them but the ones listed above stand out in particular!

What's on your list?

DIY: Glitter Champagne Bottle

The Woman I Want To Be

We've all been there. What do you we want to do with the rest of our lives? Has that answer changed in the last year? The last 5 years? I have found that my goals have changed drastically since graduating college just a few years ago. Will I ever truly know exactly what I want to do? I'm not sure! You know what I do know?
I want to inspire people. Every day. I want to be an inspirationista. I love small businesses and helping to guide women to be the best they can be. That is what I want to do and what I'm here every day to do.

I most certainly know what kind of woman I want to be.

Who do you want to be?
